The Big Blue Fish
The Big Blue Fish are a new trio of sunshine coast residents who have been playing music together since 2008. Their style could be described as a modern mix of old time and bluegrass, Django Reinhardt era swing and their own thrilling originals.
The Big Blue Fish are comprised of three accomplished musicians: Innes Campbell, recent first prize winner in flatpicking guitar at the CMAA National Bluegrass Championships, talented multi-instrumentalist Darryl Low and newest member John Thompson, blending in with an ease that belies the bulk of his instrument – the bass.
Caroline Hammond
Caroline Hammond is a guitarist, singer and songwriter of insight & earthiness. Over the years she has contributed percussion & backing vocals to various Irish and Folk outfits, but here Caroline is in intimate songwriter mode accompanied by her husband Craig Claxton, one of Australia’s finest jazz/blues guitarists. Together they conjure some acoustic magic.
Cheynne Murphy
Cheynne Murphy is a Byron Bay singer songwriter on the verge of big things. Featuring a big 12 string sound, classic arrangements and a disarming emotional honesty, Cheynne seems to effortlessly traverse an alternative acoustic folk pop terrain. With growing critical acclaim, national radio airplay and television performances, Cheynne is on a journey to the international stage. A dreamy pop purveyor with a whole lot of old school soul, this music will uplift and inspire you.
Cloudstreet
Cloudstreet’s performances are packed with vitality, humour and excitement, as they breathe new life into some of the great songs of the Australian, English and Celtic traditions and carry the tradition forward with original songs and tunes. Driving guitar and Irish flute support their enthralling vocals.
Damage with Care
Damage With Care’s mix of covers, originals songs and traditional Celtic tunes results in a full flavoured acoustic mix with strong Celtic undertones. Damage With Care brings together vocals, guitar, fiddle and mandolin and can often be found playing sessions and various folk festivals around the country.
Danny Widdicombe
Danny Widdicombe’s music has been described as cosmic cowboy music, but this doesn’t give the full picture. Styles including country pop, swinging, folk/jazz and even ‘angst and urgency’ fit together neatly, with Danny’s voice and virtuosic guitar lines providing cohesiveness to this modern folk artist.
Danny’s debut solo album The Transplant Tapes reflects his own positive attitude to life with soothing acoustic tones and heart on the sleeve lyrics delivered with conviction, warmth and honesty. Like a soundtrack to a very personal film, the varying musical styles on the album combine to create a cohesive story of a healing soul.
Danny will also be running the songwriting workshop.
Evan Mathieson
Evan’s folk music flame was ignited in the 60’s folk boom and has never gone out.
After 45 odd years of singing and playing around Brisbane Evan is considered to be one of folk’s elder statesmen. With a powerful voice, guitar and self built autoharps he takes you on a journey through humour, history, and social and political comment.
Evan will also feature songs from his two CD’s Harry’s Legacy and Tribute to Harry Robertson, featuring the songwriting skills of the late great Harry Robertson. One of our lasting performers.
The Goodwills

Jigger
Take a rowdy mandolin and guitar player who doesn’t like sleeves on any of his shirts; add a fiddle player who plays with zest and gusto; combine that with a singer-songwriter obsessed with the themes of time, love, sailing, and drinking, then add three-part harmonies, a splash of percussion and a dash of larrikin humour and you have…..Jigger, an energetic three-piece from Brisbane Australia who play spirited acoustic roots music.
Katouche
Formerly the award-winning Gritty Pearls, Erin, Juliet and Rosalind have woven their a Cappella harmonies at the Powerhouse, Judith Wright Centre, Spiegeltent, Madass Folk Club and the Woodford Folk Festival. Now with Ross adding welcome depth to the mix, they have become Katouche.
Katouche’s repertoire reflects the diverse backgrounds within the group, covering a mix of genres from world music, folk and original compositions.
Keith Urquhart
Keith is one of our finest examples of the miracle of guitar playing. He has perfected the beautiful blend of a subtle, melodic walking base line, cascading harmonics and rich, full power chords. Be chilled, relaxed, inspired and enthralled as Keith weaves his finger picking magic.
Lance Galloway
Stemming from intricately performed guitar alongside his captivatingly pure voice, Lance’s music is an alluring array of acoustic blends that speak directly from the heart of life, love, and the road. Lyrically fervent, Lance’s songs incite a range of emotions through his soaring melodies, gripping harmonies and candid phrasing. A mixture of roots, folk and blues, with a splash of country thrown in for good measure. His music is somewhat distinct, albeit considerably satisfying for music lovers alike. Lance oozes charisma, enchanting his audience with his scorching fretwork and intense vocals.

These contemporary troubadours combine guitar, violin and percussion with luscious 3-part vocal harmony on original songs of great depth and beauty. With an insightful lyrical style and the acoustics of finely crafted spruce and maple they create undeniably gorgeous music likened to that of Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Drake and Lennon/McCartney. This alternative folk and roots trio leave audiences buzzing with that warm glowing feeling… just like the beer!
The Mermaids
Who are the mermaids? Ant Lay, Ed Reynolds and Jinx, three casual acquaintances who came together with the idea to play a few cover gigs and make some pocket money. A year later and they’ve made a lot of people happy with their original music and tight harmonies.
Do they sound like Crowded House, Seals and Crofts, America or even The Beach Boys? Possibly, but it might be more accurate to say that all these people sound a bit like The Mermaids.

This Brisbane-based foursome adds an infectious love of musical fun to an accomplished performance.
Pizza Resistance
A trio born out of a love for the culinary arts . Pizza Resistance would swap a recipe long before they would ever dream of swapping a tune. Master tune collector, fiddler , guitarist, vocalist Davydd McDonald, joins heart felt vocalist, power fiddler and member of folk royalty Rose Jacob, with veteran guitar and mandolin stylist Steve Dorahy in cooking up the dance music and songs of Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Amerikay.
The Shieling
From the driving beats of work songs and dance tunes to graceful melodies of love and loss, The Shieling bring the rhythms of Scottish life to Australia, combining voices with the lyrical, ornamented style of the Scottish fiddle. Be captivated by the nuances of the Gaelic language as the songs transcend words to tug at your heart.
Quartermoon
Quartermoon are a three piece acoustic music group who play a collection of folk and old timey songs with the occasional fiddle tune thrown in.
