Ann Infante & Mary Brettell – Gospel Singalong
We’re taking a trip on that old gospel ship, brothers and sisters, for a voyage to glory with gospel songs old and new. Your crew will be Sister Anne and Sister Mary who have been saving poor sinners for many years – halleluiah! Join us aboard the Glory Cruise Liner for this Sunday morning sail across the sky to that heavenly shore. Everyone is welcome – drinkers, gamblers, sinners and folk singers!
The Barleyshakes
The Barleyshakes return to Neurum Creek with their brand of wild Irish/Aussie folk rock. With a lineup that includes fiddle, flute, whistle, banjo, bodhran and mandolin, the Barleyshakes combine intense energy, beautiful harmony and driving dance rhythms in their live performances.
Andrea Baldwin
Simple homespun folk songs about true life stories, some funny, some touching, with lots of audience interaction.
Innes Campbell
Innes flat-picked his way to winning the 2009 National bluegrass guitar championship in Tamworth. His distinctive guitar style is a blend of bluegrass/blues/gypsy jazz, his songs reflective yet showing his quiet sense of humour.
Innes will also be running a bluegrass flat picking workshop.
Cheynne Murphy
Cheynne Murphy is a Byron Bay singer songwriter on the verge of big things. Featuring a big 12 string sound, classic arrangements and a disarming emotional honesty, Cheynne seems to effortlessly traverse an alternative acoustic folk pop terrain. With growing critical acclaim, national radio airplay and television performances, Cheynne is on a journey to the international stage. A dreamy pop purveyor with a whole lot of old school soul, this music will uplift and inspire you.
Ciderhouse
Pop music of days gone by. Pull up your rocking chair, put your ear to the gramaphone and hear the songs and tunes of rural and urban America and the isles of Western Europe.
Rachel Witney-Lacey with euphonious vocals and period fiddle and Steve Dorahy with anecdotal doses of fretboard polyphony.
Chris Mallory
Chris Mallory is a solo Folk/ Roots artist who is stomping and strumming his way into the hearts of a steadily increasing fan base. Using the dynamics of his foot percussion, guitar, vocals and harmonica, his songs can range from laid back and easy to strong and powerful.
Danny Widdicombe
Danny Widdicombe’s music has been described as cosmic cowboy music, but this doesn’t give the full picture. Styles including country pop, swinging, folk/jazz and even ‘angst and urgency’ fit together neatly, with Danny’s voice and virtuosic guitar lines providing cohesiveness to this modern folk artist.
Danny’s debut solo album The Transplant Tapes reflects his own positive attitude to life with soothing acoustic tones and heart on the sleeve lyrics delivered with conviction, warmth and honesty. Like a soundtrack to a very personal film, the varying musical styles on the album combine to create a cohesive story of a healing soul.
Don Jarmey
Driving rhythms, pure stage enjoyment, Don Jarmey brings energy and enthusiasm to every performance. You’ll be amazed at how one man and a guitar can take you on such a folk rock adventure.
Emma Nixon and Tony Vandermeer
Emma Nixon has been performing with Tony Vandermeer for 12 years. They bring a wide range of musical influences to the duo to create intricate, intimate performances.
Ian Dixon – Beginners’ Tune Sessions
Once again Ian will run the Beginners’ Tune Sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. Bring your instruments and learn some new tunes in a relaxed and supportive environment, then take your new skills to the campfire at night.
Julie Minto & Robbie Stewart
Julie, a gutsy don’t mess with me blues singing diva will joined by accomplished Brisbane based guitarist Robbie Stewart (Little Secrets). Be prepared for songs about pain and love and also some with a humorous twist. Howlin’ blues harp and acoustic guitars. Blues, jazz and folk.
Katouche
Formerly the award-winning Gritty Pearls, Erin, Juliet and Rosalind have woven their a Cappella harmonies at the Powerhouse, Judith Wright Centre, Spiegeltent, Madass Folk Club and the Woodford Folk Festival. Now with Ross adding welcome depth to the mix, they have become Katouche. Katouche’s repertoire reflects the diverse backgrounds within the group, covering a mix of genres from world music, folk and original compositions.
Lance Galloway
Stemming from intricately performed guitar alongside his captivatingly pure voice, Lance’s music is an alluring array of acoustic blends that speak directly from the heart of life, love, and the road. Lyrically fervent, Lance’s songs incite a range of emotions through his soaring melodies, gripping harmonies and candid phrasing. A mixture of roots, folk and blues, with a splash of country thrown in for good measure. His music is somewhat distinct, albeit considerably satisfying for music lovers alike. Lance oozes charisma, enchanting his audience with his scorching fretwork and intense vocals.
Leah Cotterell & Jamie Clark
This year Leah and Jamie have been on tour all over the country, writing and arranging and performing – but not often with each other! Leah and Jamie share a sincere admiration for traditional folk songs, bluegrass and gospel, so they are looking forward to singing and picking some straight up classics plus their recent originals.
Lisa Johnson and Cheng Teo
Yoga makes happy campers….join Lisa Johnson and Cheng Teo for a fun and friendly interactive yoga session. All ages and abilities encouraged to attend. We will playfully explore a few yoga exercises in pair as well as finish with an easy shoulder massage.
Lonnie Martin
Lonnie Martin will enfold you in her vocal embrace as she delves into traditional folk songs, contemporary classics and audience favourites. All this delivered with a joy that will have you still singing long after she’s left the stage.
The Mermaids
Who are the mermaids? Ant Lay, Ed Reynolds and Jinx, three casual acquaintances who came together with the idea to play a few cover gigs and make some pocket money. A year later and they’ve made a lot of people happy with their original music and tight harmonies.
Do they sound like Crowded House, Seals and Crofts, America or even The Beach Boys? Possibly, but it might be more accurate to say that all these people sound a bit like The Mermaids.
Mark Cryle and the Redeemers
Recently described by Rhythms Magazine as “one of Australia’s finest singer songwriters” whose “pithy and catchy songs resonate deeply and manage to reflect the Australian psyche”, Mark Cryle cut his teeth with the band Spot the Dog but has since emerged as a force to be reckoned with as singer songwriter with his releases Notches on the Wall (2006) and most recently House of Cards, which was voted Folk Alliance Australia’s CD of the year for 2009.
Mark is performing with Richard Evans, Cathy Bell and Andrew Heath, musical compatriots of Mark’s since Spot the Dog days.
Murphy’s Pigs
Murphy’s Pigs is a nine-piece Celtic band, reputed for its passion, energy and irreverence. Inspired by the Ted Mulry Gang, Don Jarmey and Liberace, they have performed their Irish, Scottish, Australian, Breton and Gailician music at festivals, tattoos, cultural events. Did we mention irreverence?
Muziz
Muziz create a rich tapestry of instrumentation and rhythm, interweaving with the beautiful art of Bellydance. Muziz specialises in music from the Middle East and North Africa.
Muziz will also be running a belly dance workshop – limber up those hips!
Martin Pearson
Martin Pearson is a comedian with a keen eye for making everyday events so mundane they are laughable. A singer, satirist, stand up comedian, raconteur, reciter and storyteller, Martin’s insight, presence, wit and beautiful voice will keep you both in stitches and enthralled.
Nadia Sunde
Join international award winning singer/songwriter, children’s entertainer and ABC radio presenter Nadia Sunde as she hosts a Family Music Making Jamboree . Bring your dancing shoes, tra-la-la-la’s and a belly full of giggles! This workshop will leave you full of inspiration and imagination for making music a part of your family’s everyday life.
Prettiest Girl in the County
Prettiest Girl in the County blend a little ol’ timey mountain music with some new school attitude ….. “all dressed up in calico, with a pretty pink ribbon and a party to go to.” Inspired by the original string bands of the Appalachians, the folk music song catchers, the country blues story tellers and the high lonesome Bluegrass singers.
Pirate Brides
Into the mix go Aussies and Yanks, banjos and accordions, contemporary originals and old-time gems. Add fabulous vocal harmonies, guitar, mandolin and double bass, and out come “Pirate Brides” – lively, polished and delightfully irreverent.
This Brisbane-based foursome adds an infectious love of musical fun to an accomplished performance.
Peace ‘n’ Choir
Peace ‘n’ Choir has been performing a cappella choral music for over a decade, inspired by the joy of singing, the richness of Australia’s diverse musical traditions and the beautiful surroundings and sense of community of their Mt Nebo/Mt Glorious home territory.

The View from Madeleine’s Couch
The View from Madeleine’s Couch play joyous music deeply influenced by the rhythms and harmonies of Brazil. Their sound is unique in Australia, and they recently won the QSong award for best World Music Song. They have toured their gorgeous melodies, great instrumentation and addictive grooves all over SE Queensland as well as to Brazil.
The Neurum Creek Music Festival is a local acoustic music camping weekend held at Neurum Creek Bush Retreat in September each year. The festival aims to provide an atmosphere of community and inclusion for the south-east corner of Queensland by showcasing the established and up and coming talents of this corner of the world, as well as featuring acts from around Australia (and at times the rest of the world!)
