Food at the 2010 Festival

Being a camping weekend, you may well be bringing your camp kitchens and preparing your own meals throughout the weekend. However, there will be food stalls again this year for those who’d rather buy their meals, or for those who want to cook some and buy some.

We’ve taken on board your feedback from last year, and there should be PLENTY to go around in 2010.

Coffee 4 You
Mmmmm, the beautiful scent of fresh brewed coffee will once again waft across the festival this year. Cappuchino, flat white, latte, espresso, hot chocolate as well as iced drinks, frappes, slushies, juice chillers and milkshakes.

Conscious Kitchen

Thomas is setting up Conscious Kitchen for the third year in a row, bigger and better. This year the menu will consist of quiches, curries, nachos, dahl and Mediterranean chicken. Bacon and eggs, muesli and toasted sandwiches will be served for breakfast and organic chocolate care, sago and organic orange juice for anytime.

The Shack

The Shack will be setting up shop in the open shed behind the marquee. The menu features hot food that includes burgers, rolls, sausage sizzle and hot dogs.

Special Treat

On Saturday night, when the stage performances are over and the session players swoop into the marquee, the Bush Retreat will have a very special treat for us all – DAMPER! That’s right, before you begin cranking out and/or listening to the tunes and songs, get yourself a hunk of fresh hot damper (with golden syrup) from the camp ovens set up over the campfire. There’ll be enough for everybody! Yes, that’s right, enough for everybody…..

Festival Bar

The Festival Bar will be serving beer, wine, cider, Guinness, champagne, softdrinks, water and hot toddies and famous festival mulled wine.

Not long to go now – here’s some info about sessions and t-shirts….

Sessions
A highlight of this year’s festival will once again be tune and singing sessions. It’s a place to pick up new songs and tunes, to experience playing with lots of different people, and most importantly to have fun. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, the campfires will be stocked, stoked and ready to burn most of the night (if not all of the night) for those of you who really like to session, or just absorb the atmosphere. Saturday night’s special treat will be damper, cooked in the camp oven over the fire.

Terry Jacob will be running an Australian tunes session on Saturday afternoon, where you can rediscover the reels, jigs and waltzes of Australia.

Ian Dixon will also be running the beginner sessions again this year, on both Saturday and Sunday. If there are any particular tunes you’d like to learn, you can email Ian cbrsoft@yahoo.com and he’ll do his best to get hold of the music and familiarise himself with them.

T-Shirts
We will again be screen-printing the 2010 festival design onto your t-shirt for the bargain price of $5. This means you can bring along a t-shirt in your favourite colour/size/quality/style, and we’ll print the design on for you. Please note, we’ll be using BLACK ink again this year, so no black t-shirts.

Thanks to all those artists who have expressed an interest in performing at Neurum Creek Festival 2010. Applications have now closed. We anticipate the program will be finalised in early June. Watch this space!

This year’s Neurum Creek Festival will be held on the 10th, 11th and 12th of September. Ticket prices for the 2010 festival have increased slightly. Prices are as follows:

Weekend Tickets

Adult Weekend Ticket $50
School Age (Primary & Secondary) $25

Day Tickets
Day Ticket Friday or Saturday $30
Child Day Ticket Friday or Saturday $15
Day Ticket Sunday $15

Child Day Ticket Sunday $10

For the information of those people who are wanting to express an interest in performing at the festival, an email will be sent when we’re open for expressions of interest, and this information and form will also be on the website www.neurumcreekfestival.com We anticipate that this will be towards the end of February.
